After a gruelling day photographing 5.30 am to 20.00 (got up at 4.30 and light was too blue) I have managed to get most of the photographs I wanted but I will need to go through and edit them all to work out what is left and what needs to be reshot.

I was really worried about photoshopping the cotton out of this but it seems to have worked really well. Magic.
Green Shoot
Sample of some of my first shoot. Managed to get 25 done today. I am getting up at 4.30 am tomorrow in order to make the most of the daylight. I am doing a 14 hour shoot in order to get this all finished (I hope).
Some Type
Above is a rather dull spread from the layout I have been working on. Hopefully with the addition of colour and the photographs it will liven it up a bit. Currently in Futura Medium and Joanna. Since I am going to have a lot of large scale numbers in my book it seemed worth trying to create some interesting numerals. These are rough workings for 5, 2 and 7. I hope to create an "edited" version of Futura to use for titles and headings to accompany the numerals.
Cones
Number 72 Cones. Below is my wonderful makeshift miniature studio at my parent's house. The wine is for artistic purposes only (number 12) as are jaffa cakes (number 68). I am using natural lighting and then doing quite a bit of editing. It is long winded but it is achieving the aesthetic I want. My only worry is they will end up looking too photoshopped. I am running quite behind with schedule but I want to get as many images as possible looking as good as possible as it is the focus of my book.
Junk
About 60 of my objects. I completely underestimated the amount of time it would take to use the system to find words, deciding on words and the sourcing the relevant items. This puts a lot of pressure on the actual photographic shoots, editing and production which is an undesirable position to be in.

Obsessive Listing
This is what I have been compiling for a day and a half. It may not look like much but finding an object to represent the number 22 when the only words given are name, enema, anime and oedima is near on impossible. This is just the list. I still need to actually collect all 100 objects.

I have spent the majority of the last few days transferring the numbers 0-99 into their phonetic counterparts with the aid of a dictionary. Using this method

Some have more than others. By the end of the day I will have decided on which words I am going to translate into images for the books/cards and will have begun to collect them.
